Thyroid Nodules
Thyroid nodules are abnormal growths within the thyroid gland. Usually benign, they are rarely cancerous. Ultrasonography and, where indicated, fine needle aspiration biopsy are used for evaluation.
Surgical Indications
- Large or symptomatic goitre
- Suspicious or malignant nodules
- Thyroid cancer
- Hyperthyroidism (refractory to medical treatment)
